MAX RAD STRING ON ME

Full of synths and soul, MAX RAD’s latest cut, ‘String On Me’, is an otherworldly exploration of the anxieties of day to day life. The opening of the piece sees detuning keys and a vocoder interact with the telling line 'I find it hard to breathe, Something in the water, I can’t stand this city no more', before punchy beats and wobbling bass contrast the delicate lead vocal that follows. Of the tune, Rad says “I was feeling pretty sick of living in the city and the lyrics came out of that, the feeling of boredom that comes with feeling stressed the whole time”. The piece builds in energy, with a sing-along chant taking us right up to the concluding keyboard chords which demonstrates the talented songwriter is capable of creating artistic sounds and moments of blissful catchiness within the same 3-minutes. -Dan Peeke
