Mall Grab has done something truly special with ‘Disconnect’. Taken from the Don’t Keep The Fire Burning EP, he has used his position to draw the attention of his audience to the ongoing (at the time of writing) fires in Australia, while donating all proceeds to the RSPCA Bushfire Appeal and the NSR Rural Fire Service. Luckily, while promoting such an important message, he has managed to drop an impressive tune. Distant beats open the tune, before it explodes into a flurry of metallic percussion and wobbling bass synths. He isn’t afraid to throw in some eclectic melodies either, with the unique timbre of the main lead synth lending itself nicely to the jumpy, disjointed theme.
