One of the things we like most about mystery man M.T. Hadley, other than his sparklingly well-blended soul, pop and psych-rock songs, is that he absolutely refuses to be rushed. Some two years on from his debut song 'It Hurts' - he was going by the name creeper back then - the London-based artist has dropped his second song, the smooth-as-fuck 'Funes'. Drawing on LA Priest's strobing pop, Tame Impala's dancefloor psych-funk, and How To Dress Well's falsetto soul, M.T. has composed a low-key banger, driven along by yearning keys and chunky beat patterns, which feels both grounded in the present day and reflective of the glory days of synthpop.
