Luke Bower - aka Lucy Lu - has been running with the best of London’s alternative jazz scene, writing and playing with Nilufer Yanya and previously associated with Puma Blue. Last year, Bower made the move to release his debut EP and has now returned with a smooth little number by the name of ‘Crucial’. Lucy Lu’s sedated vocals meander over playful electronics, set right into jazzy horns and quelled pop melodies. Despite this laissez-faire aesthetic, ‘Crucial’ is all about making the most of every moment; a point portrayed by the video’s elderly gentleman protagonist who is clearly still living his best life. - Hannah Thacker
