London/Brighton-based Rock ‘n’ Roll enthusiasts Lovers Club have shared an appropriately-titled new track in ‘Dark Country’. Channelling the sleazy scratch of South London legends the Fat White Family, mixed with the ominous post-punk experimentalism of The Birthday Party, ‘Dark Country’s warped country-inspired sound is both raw and dirty. Singer/guitarist Alec Hatcher spits and snarls his way through the track over wailing guitar riffs, taunting bass lines and abrasive drumming, which builds and drops without warning. Whilst it's still early days for Lovers Club, we'll certainly be keeping an eye out for more of their explosive filthy drawl. -HLMX
