Liverpudlian act Loveless have been dropping tracks at pretty sporadic intervals since the start of 2015, from the stripped-back 'SKIN' to the charming 'Mirrors', the band have proven, without much effort, that you can still create catchy electronic-pop without a flashy studio or big name producer on board. 'PILOT' carries on their trend of minimalist instrumentation but soulful melody with jumpy beats trickling along to jangles of guitar, thick with reverb. Dual vocals (a disarming male falsetto and smoky female hum) contribute to a fuller atmosphere than previous efforts, suggesting that Loveless might well be on their way to a more fleshed-out sound sometime next year. - DC
