Liz Lawrence is an indie-pop singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist who taught herself music production until she felt confident enough to make the music she wanted, on her own terms, after both being part of a pop duo Cash and David, and singing/touring with friends Bombay Bicycle Club. She has released 9 singles and one album entitled Bedroom Hero in 2011. ‘USP’ is Liz’s newest single - a sassy song with a gritty, distorted bass line, pinned on top of the succinct drum pattern on the hi-hat and snare, laced with claps. The guitars are repetitive and effective at creating a counter melody to the vocals. Her voice is direct and strong when she sings: "shine bright, your light, they’ll tell you that your mad, but your not, you’re true, and the holiest of things". To celebrate the arrival of her new album Pit Party (out 25th of October), Liz will headline SET in Dalston on the 29th of October. -Ellie Rose Davies
