Harrogate pair Litany have returned with their first new material since 2014's brace of thoughtful, nighttime pop tracks 'Slopes' and 'Look'. 'Woman', a collaboration with enigmatic Chicago MC, Appleby, carries on their canon as a band who share a lot of DNA with The XX, but there's no doubt an evident progression in their sound. Softly lilting guitars remain a cornerstone of their melodies, but 'Woman''s shapeshifting synth trills, uneven beats and brooding rap make for a more engaging listen than ever before. 2015 could be a huge year for Jake Nicolaides and Beth Cornell. - DC
