LET'S EAT GRANDMA DEEP SIX TEXTBOOK

Transgressive are a label that do things their own way. From new indie darlings Alvvays to the boundless soul of Songhoy Blues to Flume, and his genre-defining brand of EDM, the independent collective are always involved with something special, and something for everyone. The latest members of their family are childhood pals Rosa and Jenny, who adopt the brilliantly bizarre moniker Let’s Eat Grandma. Friends since the age of 4, the Norfolk multi-instrumentalists have unveiled the first taste of their experimental pop. “Deep Six Textbook” (available on iTunes here and set to be released on limited edition coloured 7” vinyl on 18th March) with its suitably bucolic, kaleidoscopic visuals, is a hypnotising, melancholic introduction to the world of L.E.G., who will release their debut album this summer. A metronomic, heavily reverberating drum beat walks the track along, as the duo story-tell in sing-song conversation; eerie, FX-heavy saxophone and haunting bells only add to the fairytale atmosphere of this immersive first outing, hinting at a special live show to come at The Forge in London on 21st March.-G.O'B
