We've been following the progression of Birmingham-bred Lawrence Taylor from "safe" singer-songwriter, peddling a fine but hardly thrilling line in pop-rock to a vengeful crooner capable of grabbing the attention of Zane Lowe and millions upon millions of Spotify users (recent single 'Bang Bang' is closing in on the 5,000,000 mark). Taylor's debut EP is out today and capping a perfect run of singles is 'Robyn' - a less rowdy number than the record's other tracks perhaps, but it's still got that warming texture to it that Taylor has made his own with smooth vocals melting into tingling guitars and rousing percussion. - DC
