Birmingham's Lawrence Taylor just put out his second powerful indie-rock single, 'Bang Bang', this week - a layered guitar-led effort, recalling the more sentimental side of Jamie T and the less commercially folksy edge that Mumford & Sons showed off on their latest album. The demand for articulate guitar music with pop sensibility is as great as ever, so it's no surprise that the now-London-based 22-year-old has been attracting interest in all the right places. Based on this fiery new effort alone, it's easy to see why. Look out for Taylor's debut EP, due in October this year. - DC
