Be prepared to feel all the feelings as they’re coaxed to the surface by Irish singer-songwriter LOAISE’s emotive vocals and earnest, ballad-style piano chords. It has been seven months since LOAISE stepped out with her wondrous electronic-pop debut ‘YOU’, taking cues from the silky production techniques of NAO, Melanie Martinez and Skott. Now, the industry newcomer has given us her first EP, completed by the raw, emotionally-driven single ‘Shooting’. Speaking about the track, LOAISE says that, “'Shooting' is probably my favourite track off the EP. In comparison to the other songs, it’s quite bare and raw. When writing it, I feel I got to delve into new territories and emotions, which is echoed in the song’s lyrics.” One lyric that sums up this experience is “shooting with no ammo,” which paints a picture of futility and endless efforts with little in the way of results.
