Our new favourite Columbian singer Lao Ra is back with the third single from her debut Jesus Made Me Bad EP and where the other two tracks we’ve heard previously have been more upbeat, 'Tell My Why' turns the tempo down and the heat up. Although still as tropically infused as the others, this track falls as far into ballad territory as we think Lao Ra will go, with its heartbroken slow rap and intimate details. Nostalgic of 90’s R&B girl groups, she pushes a well -known genre through her own world view, creating something recognisable but also giving it a fresh airing. Now living in the UK, we're looking forward to seeing what influences she'll turn upside down next. - SJ
