Following last month’s moving comeback track ‘Glass Eyes’, London-based songwriter JW Ridley has revealed another atmospheric cut. ‘Homesick (Out The Blue)’ is Ridley’s second collaboration with producer/engineer Ali Chant, who’s worked with everyone from PJ Harvey to Portishead and Aldous Harding. Taking a slightly more grounded approach, ‘Homesick (Out The Blue)’ stems from a steady kick drum pulse, with tight guitar strums, tumbling fills and and delicate descending electronics all adding to its stirring, cinematic vibe. The track’s emotive refrain, 'Out the blue, out to you' is supported by a flawless female voice, that lifts it through the second verse all the way to its climatic breakdown and uplifting finale.
