JOSEFIN ÖHRN + THE LIBERATION IN MADRID / RAINBOW LOLLIPOP

With dark waves of prog-rock and hauntingly repetitive electronic hooks, Swedish act Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation bring us a song from their new album that could neatly sit alongside Massive Attack or Portishead. We warn you that ‘In Madrid / Rainbow Lollipop’ is a lot more ominous than it appears from the name, with vocals chiming in and out like hazy thoughts in a nightmarish subconscious. The band certainly know how to build a track though, with the experimental sounds bubbling and unfurling into a heavy wave at the apex. Cinematic and dramatic to the end, ‘In Madrid / Rainbow Lollipop’ will suck you in. - SJ
