The Copenhagen label dedicated to releasing groove and soul inspired electronic music, Tartelet Records has presented their 2019 compilation The Second Best Time is Now, featuring nine unreleased tracks from its pool of esteemed artists. This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Natural Resources Defense Counsil, one of the world’s most effective environmental action organisations. The compilation includes works by Wayne Snow and Digitalluc, Jitwam, Space Ghost, Glenn Astro, Kasper Marott, Verner, N.O.T.E, and label head Dirk 81. A striking compilation on the whole, however we're about to take a closer look at multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jitwam's 'Gurlnobodydo'. Jitwam is a Brooklyn based artist with Indian roots, who draws influence from Moodymann to the Velvet Underground. 'Gurlnobodydo' features a satisfying wooly synth under a clackety beat. The bass is wanders up and down with a breeziness, adding a fantastic groove. Vocals are slow and soulful, stretched out like honey across the track.
