Super talented songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and alt-pop aficionado Jay Som (real name Melina Duterte) has shared her first new single since her highly-praised breakthrough album Everybody Works, which dropped in March of last year. 'Pirouette' is another dazzling slice of psych-tinged indie-pop consisting of jovial guitar strums, steady drums and Duterte's irresistibly catchy vocal melodies. 'Pirouette' will be released as a 7" of the same name with another track that didn't quite make the cut on the LP. Duterte explains, "Both of these tracks were made during the spring of 2016 – the first demo stages for Everybody Works. They were fun to write and record but felt out of place on the track list during the finalization of the album. These tracks remain close to my heart and I’m really grateful they’re finally out in the world." -HLMX
