Brisbane's Jarryd James has been firmly on our radar for what seems like ages now. His irresistible brace of tracks 'Do You Remember' and 'Give Me Something' gave him the springboard to a deal with Interscope, and his first proper record with them, Thirty One, drops at the end of the week. 'This Time (Serious Symptoms, Simple Solutions)' looks to be the final cut we'll hear before Friday - a less immediate offering than much of his robust pop output, it shines a spotlight on Jarryd's frankly angelic vocals which wash over heart-tugging strings, a freight train rumble of bass and delicately restrained percussion.
