Okay, so we usually have a policy whereby we'll only blog about tracks that could be classed as fresh uploads to SoundCloud, or YouTube, or whatever. That rule is definitely there to be broken, by the right music from a truly exciting new discovery. US artist ISADORA is a 10/10 exception. Where she's from in America and what she's into (Gesaffelstein, seemingly), we have little idea, but her debut song 'Beast' is well, a bit of an animal. Drawing on charming, stickysweet pop and smooth, icy-veined R&B in equal measure, ISADORA nails a vibe that perfectly dissects BANKS' breathy downtempo and Lorde's natural affinity for an instant hook. That's not to say 'Beast' is all serious cool and affected gloom, ISADORA's coy lyrics ("Come on, dance with me, go ahead forget about your family") shine among steady trickling beats and hazy guitars. Rest assured, be hearing a lot more about her soon. - DC
