ISAAC GRACIE LAST WORDS

Isaac Gracie appears as a ‘60s singer-songwriter on the cusp between folk peace songs and rebellious rock in the new video for his gorgeous single ‘Last Words’. It’s a mid-point we hear with beautiful clarity in the re-recording of what was originally an acoustic demo, written and recorded in his Ealing bedroom. A remnant of that former isolation can be found in the hushed, guitar-led verses, but then the chorus springs to life with instrumental energy, causing us to visualise Isaac Gracie and his band on stage. Suitably so, the music video is a montage of moments of the young musician on tour, retro frames, subtitled lyrics and Gracie squarely singing down the lens. Thi addition from director Jackson Ducasse is a surefire display of the reason why we love Gracie; it’s his power to connect with the listener, to tap into their darkest fears, their deepest hopes, anxiety, confusion, desperation and honesty. It’s a connection that continues to propel this artist forward. No doubt, if you’re reading this you’ll be keen to see Isaac Gracie on stage, so do check out his tour dates here. - HT
