Ibibio Sound Machine have shared 'The Pot Is on Fire' from their Merge-debut LP Uyai, out 3 March. The song, which was debuted on Lauren Laverne's 6Music show, is a food dance that celebrates the “happy place” when the food will be ready soon. “It’s also metaphorical,” frontwoman Eno Williams writes. “Something is brewing which will soon bear fruit.” And with its brilliantly funky combination of intricate rhythms - complete with cow bell - and Williams' empowering vocal, it's a recipe of which we cannot get enough. The track also comes alongside news of a UK tour around the release of the album; this is a collective who are indeed on fire. -G.O'B
