You can’t ignore the pointed truth placed front and centre through I See Rivers’ latest song title ‘We Don’t Get More Time’. Although seemingly simple, the steady progression of the hours, days, weeks, months, years… is something we push to the back of our mind. However, the Nordic trio are here to remind you of one important reality - time is running out to save our planet. As the band state: “Climate change surrounds us all. Seeing how much the glacier ice has melted right outside our window in Norway has been a shocking eye-opener for us, and people are affected in so many different ways wherever they are. This song formed from fear of all these changes and knowing that so many people in power are ignoring the problem.”  The lyrics are simple yet effective, not allowing for misinterpretation of their clear message. Sonically, I See Rivers keep in step with the other tracks we’ve heard from their forthcoming debut album. ‘We Don’t Get More Time’ blossoms with floating pop melodies, interwoven harmonies and icy synths; this time the quickened tempo heightening the sense of urgency that the three-piece want us to feel to our very core. - Hannah Thacker
