HUSKY LOOPS I THINK YOU'RE WONDERFUL

London-via-Bologna band Husky Loops return with ‘I Think You’re Wonderful’, another signature expression of their sound. As ever Danio Forni, Tommaso Medica and Pietro Garrone take an empathic approach to their music. As frontman and producer Dani explores, “I Think You’re Wonderful” is a song about universal love, about forgiveness, about empathy, about resilience.” This track with its strange textures, British indie-rock underpinnings, sweeping singalong chorus and playful ear-twitching electronica is a tonic against negativity, whether that be derived from fear-fuelled politics, a stressful work environment, or advertising promoting unattainable standards and so on. We especially love the tender segway into an intimate ballad and voice refrain here. It’s easily the band’s most pop geared release to date, and so it’s no wonder that this song was selected as Hottest Record in the World by BBC Radio legend Annie Mac this week. Along with previous List Picks ‘Everyone Is Having Fun Fun Fun But Me’ and ‘Let Go For Nothing’, ‘I Think You’re Wonderful’ will appear on the band’s debut album, I Can’t Even Speak English, set for release on September 6th. - Hannah Thacker
