Pompey lads turned Londoners Hotel Lux have shared the chilling new video for ‘The Last Hangman’, which emerged as a single last month. The particularly bleak cut from the quintet’s live set, has now been given an equally disturbing video, which sees four of the five band members tied to chairs with bags over their heads as they writhe to escape the inevitable hangman’s noose. Singer Lewis Duffin is luckier, as he wanders desolately along the water's edge spitting his cutting lyrics into the camera. It's a fitting accompaniment for a song about a infamous executioner as Duffin explains, “We wanted the video, like the song, to cast a prying eye upon Pierrepoint’s world, to peer into the dubious morality of the man.” We think they've hit the nail on the head. -HLMX
