HOLY MOTORS SIGNS

New York-based indie label Wharf Cat Records appeared on our radar last year when they released the brilliant first and final album from Brooklyn post-punks WALL. Their newest release is a collection of singles by Holy Motors, an Estonian shoegaze outfit with a taste for the open road. The self-described musical cowboys consider themselves as dreamers first and foremost and cite Ennio Morricone's film scores as influences. Their latest offering 'Signs' is an expansive slice of shoegaze-tinted dream-pop with a hypnotic psychedelic edge. Singer Eliann Tulve's gorgeous vocals glide seamlessly between those of Mazzy Star and Beach House, as spaghetti Western-inspired guitar lines ripple beneath them. Holy Motors' debut album Slow Sundown is set to be released on March 9th. -HLMX
