We've been fans of the lesser-spotted experimental sister-duo Hockeysmith since their spellbinding performance at Green Man Festival back in 2015. Having remained almost completely silent since then, with the exception of low-key singles 'Let's Dagger' and 'Go Baack', there's finally some news in the Hockeysmith camp. With original guitarist Georgie heading back to university, sister Annie is taking full creative control for the foreseeable future, pushing the project in an exciting new direction. Written between Cornwall and Copenhagen 'Holy War' combines challenging electronic elements and killer beats with the distinctive ethereal vocals that we first fell in love with. According to their Facebook page 'Holy War' is just the first of 'a bunch of new tunes on the way', meaning Hockeysmith's long-awaited debut album could be just around the corner. -Holly Mullineaux
