HINDS CHILI TOWN
Spanish foursome Hinds have been producing some of our favourite garage-rock of the last twelve months. They used to be called Deers, but FKA twigs-style legal action put paid to that moniker relatively quickly. Back then it was Bandcamp demos like 'Bamboo' and 'Trippy Gum' which pricked our ears with their laidback, tongue-in-cheek ramshackle vibe; now the Madrid ladies are going global, announcing their debut album will be released on US indie, Mom + Pop, and UK boutique, Lucky Number, while airing a new cut from the record called 'Chili Town'. It's a typically joyous Hinds number, underpinned by classic jangling guitars, bobbing bass licks, jittery percussion, and of course, Ana and Carlotta's sweetly barbed harmonies. Take a trip to 'Chili Town', you won't regret it. - DC
