Helena Deland has shared a smokey new video for 'There Are a Thousand', taken from her recently-released two-track From the Series of Songs 'Altogether Unaccompanied' Vol. I which is out now via Luminelle Recordings, a new record label formed in collaboration between indie flag-bearing blog Gorilla vs. Bear and Fat Possum/House Arrest. Speaking of the slow motion, smile inducing video Deland offers, "I was on a very long drive with my boyfriend; listening to 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' we imagined an older guy singing this would be very moving and somewhat tragic, and also somehow likely. It makes sense to me that the video feels a little lost and random, because that's the feeling the song conveys in my opinion." Along with news of a debut London show, it's a stunning track, and you feel there are a thousand more to come from the talented Montreal songwriter. -G.O'B
