We recently had the pleasure to interview rising producer-songwriter Haux following the release of his single ‘Heartbeat’, a track which continues to visual and audio narrative that the photographer-turned-musician is building in the run up to his sophomore EP. The next chapter of his lovelorn story line is ‘Ricochet’, a gentle whisper of a track that communicates an individual's sincere intentions: “I never want to hurt you.” Tainted with sadness, ‘Ricochet’ was first written and recorded in an unfurnished Brooklyn apartment on an upright Bechstein piano, each note reverberating through the empty space. Inspired by the demo, the finished version retains these echoed chords and Woodson Black’s exposed vocal, accompanied by a warming female voice the brings closer intimacy to this soft-touch single. - HT
