HARRY MOLD DRAIN

TMR is all about discovering and supporting exciting new talent and there are few debuts that can compare to the sensational energy and vigor of Harry Mold’s first single ‘Drain’. Recorded at Dean Street Studios and produced by Mold and Steph Marziano, it’s an explosive piece of indie-rock with a punk attitude and infectious hook. The twenty-year-old Londoner exudes confidence through this gritty tune; an impression which the mutli-faceted artist holds himself to. “I have the confidence to go onstage in front of 90,000 people. I’d do it tomorrow. I love the effect I have on people when I’m onstage, the adrenaline is insane, being vulnerable in front of all those people...”, as Harry Mold says. His music is all about funneling the youth experience in his rebellious rock anthems, and as you listen to ‘Drain’ for the fourth, perhaps fifth, time, you’ll take note of the witty remarks Mold makes. He revolts against our addiction to screens, the inescapable pull of our phones and our pursuit of quick-fix entertainment. This modern-day suffocation was inspired by Harry’s time working at a call centre, as he recalls “feelings of frustration and almost claustrophobia of a repetitive and monotonous routine that I was stuck in. For me these feelings came from a typical 9-5 call centre job where I spent the majority of time dreaming of my actual passion.” Now free of the office job, Harry Mold has launched into music with a track that we won’t forget anytime soon.
