GrooveCircuit may have taken the name of their debut release from a certain well known two piece rock band, but ‘Royal Blood’ gives off anything but unoriginality. Unique, noise heavy synth lines pulsate throughout the opening build up, before a drop shifts the listeners expectations, thinning out the texture into a groovy beat rather than fattening it up. While they are sitting on a back catalogue of well-produced house tracks, this tune marks their first official cut, and its ever shifting patterns and dense textures prove that this duo are ready to shuffle their way into the scene. -Dan Peeke
