LIST PICK

GRIMM GRIMM GINORMOUS

Tailing two beautiful offerings from his imminently arriving new album Ginormous, London-based Japanese musician Koichi Yamanoha (aka Grimm Grimm) has unveiled the album's magical title track. Picking up where 'Something In Your Way' and 'We've Never Been This Far Before' left off, 'Ginormous' is fragile and heartfelt. An ascending analogue synth line levitates in triads above a softly strummed guitar sequence as frequent collaborator and Value Void member Paz Maddio's whimsical vocals coo above the mix. Ticking along with a melodic bass line and a simple drum beat, played gently on an acoustic kit, 'Ginormous' feels like a story from a dream, timeless and surreal. Made all the more enchanting by its colourful accompanying video by Seth Pimlott and Pearl Doughty-White, 'Ginormous' surpasses our already high expectations of Grimm Grimm, and with the rest of the album arriving on the 28th of February, it's a good thing that we won't have to wait long for more. -Holly Mullineaux
