GOODNIGHT LOUISA SOMEONE SO SUBLIME

If a Blood Red Shoes, So Below and Anna Of The North combination returned in the near future as a humanoid robot, they’d probably sounds something like Goodnight Louisa, who we’ve discovered through new single ‘Someone So Sublime’. The audacious vocal which tops the swerving synths and spiking electronics belongs to Scottish songwriter Louise Anna McCraw who discovered the dramatic depths of her own creativity during a writing trip to the Westfjords of Iceland. In her own words, Louise describes the song as “a metaphor of being punched in the face in slow motion. The journey the fist takes, striking the nose and then all the blood running out signifying the idea of spitefully shoved out of love.” This visceral imagery provides a whole new skope of perspective to the emotionally charged single which ruptures with digital dream pop originality. If ‘Someone So Sublime’ has worked its way into your heart - as it rightly will - then do check out Goodnight Louisa’s first track ‘Hollow Good’. - Hannah Thacker
