South coast punks Gnarwolves have come storming back with 'Wires', the first cut off their impending second album. As rocket-fuelled as you'd expect from the trio, it nevertheless finds them refining their assault, and peeling back the layers of grizzled, matted fur that previously housed their melodic heart. "I'm sorry for not calling back I've been / staying home, sleeping in" offers frontman Thom Weeks by way of explanation for the group's recent radio silence - on this evidence, they're well rested and ready to hit the ground running once more. - TC
