Gently Tender is an indie supergroup consisting of Sam Fryer, Pete Mayhew, and Will Doyle, formerly of Palma Violets, The Big Moon's Celia Archer and Adam Brown. 'Avez-Vous Déjà' is the super-chilled b-side to last month's slightly more upbeat offering '2 Chords Good', released via Big Score (home to the early works of LICE, Hotel Lux, Yowl & many more). Living up to their name, 'Avez-Vous Déjà' is a relaxed offering that plods along softly as delicate shuffling drums keep time with a slow-grooving yet intoxicating bass line. Bright synthesizers add some shimmer to the mix and whilst the chorus vocals almost sound like a sigh of relief, there's something soothing and truly cathartic about how casually they're delivered, not to mention, we're a sucker for anything sung in French.
