‘Bonkers’ is taken from the recent EP of the same name, by collaborative project GANGUE. The, as yet, relatively unknown group is made up of French band La Fine Equipe, the Soul-tinged DJ FULGEANCE and Belgian producer Haring have been quietly combining to create “a raw experience that refines in all complementarities: ambient techno, twisted grooves and irresistible basses”. The lo-fi opening contrasts the swung, jazzy middle section, and shows off how this unexpected grouping are able to blend genres into a satisfying mix of musical inspiration. It reaches its peak towards the end, as harsh synths combine with the now distant chord sequence that was once the focal point of the piece. -Dan Peeke
