Sometimes music has the power to instantly transport the listener to a totally new place, a new world, perhaps a different time. Not a man to rest on his laurels, Londoner Fyfe has recently shared a new track - ‘Better Man’ - featuring a beautiful guest-turn from The Iskra String Quartet and Peter Gregson (who've played for the likes of The xx, Vampire Weekend and Sufjan Stevens). The new track (lifted from his new EP Stronger), is a true work of art. With a little bit of help from the aforementioned friends, Fyfe seamlessly knits together stuttering, warped synth samples, with expansive string arrangements, as his luscious tones cry out above its otherworldly instrumentals. It’s a gloriously ambitious amalgamation, and one that again proves Paul Dixon (aka Fyfe) is one of the UK’s shining musical lights right now. -JC
