FRøKEDAL DAVID

Olso-based singer/songwriter Frøkedal has been a long-standing member of Norway's indie scene. Having previously fronted the brilliant alt-rock outfit Harrys Gym, Frøkedal's solo works are a distinctively more delicate affair. Taking influence from everything from 60s folk to Cocteau Twins, Brian Eno and minimalist pop, her latest offering 'David' is an enchanting melting-pot for fans of Jacco Gardner, The Cardigans and Nico. Whimsical xylophones chime jovially on top of carefully-picked guitar chords and a groove-heavy bass line that wouldn't sound out of place in a Tame Impala track, whilst Frøkedal's breath-taking vocals soar serenely above the mix. We might be late to the party, having just picked up on the fourth single from her upcoming sophomore record How We Made It, but consider us truly converted. -Holly Mullineaux
