A year ago, Frills delivered one of our favourite summer soundtracks with ‘My Love’, and the New Zealand duo aren’t leaving their listeners cold this season either. ‘Drunk Girls, Drunk Boys’ is a more subdued offering than your usual poppy, sun-soaked fare, and we’re absolutely loving the chic vibes of this lo-fi psychedelic pop trip. The chorus is a super catchy burst of energy that depicts those warm late evenings where everyone is intoxicated, running wild, and “merry on the streets.” It’s a celebration of a version of youth that many listeners will be able to relate to, and if alcohol and nights- ut were never your thing, you can tune into the slick production, upbeat synths, and indie-pop guitars, all of which come together as another uplifting listen from Frills. - Hannah Thacker
