Frankie Rose's new sci-fi themed album, Cage Tropical, is coming out this Friday via Slumberland/Grey Market. In a final teaser before the big reveal, Rose has shared another beautifully spooky new cut in the shape of 'Dyson Sphere'. Not be confused with the popular vacuum cleaner brand, a Dyson Sphere is a hypothetical megastructure that completely encompasses a star and captures most or all of its power. It's a striking post-punk-inspired effort dripping with early eighties nostalgia from that signature flanged-out Banshees guitar sound to the warm chorussy bass made famous by The Cure and Public Image Ltd. Despite its heavy references to past, the production is fresh and new, delivering some of the best new music we've heard this summer. Thankfully it's not too long a wait until we can hear the rest of the album. -HLMX
