FOURS LEAVE ME/DAMAGE

Is it too soon to say Shepherd's Bush has a burgeoning little pop scene? Probably but here goes anyway. Following in the footsteps of bedroom artist-turned-Polydor postergirl, Shura, come indie outfit FOURS - another SheBu act destined for the big stage. The four-piece (duh) posted two tracks to their SoundCloud this week, the electrifying 'Leave Me' and the slightly more restrained 'Damage', and it's immediately plain to see that this lot know their way around a chorus. In their pop pomp, FOURS have that accessible hook-laden feel of Haim, Florence and The Preatures, with chunky percussion and nagging guitar riffs coming to the fore, but some of their moodier, more atmospheric lulls - on 'Damage' particularly - recall The Night VI, or even Woman's Hour. We're calling it now, their debut EP Everything I Never Said will be out on a major. Listen to 'Damage' here. - DC
