From the same Spinning Top music collective that is home to the likes of Tame Impala and Pond comes Australian sonic experimenter Fascinator, or Johnny Mackay as usually known. Following on from his genre bending debut album Man from last year, he now offers up new single ‘Skin Within’. A bass led track with a retro feel, it’s hard to place the influences but we reckon there are equal lashes pf psych and brooding Kraftwerk-esque electronica in there. Having worked with ex-The Avalanches member Darren Seltmann, there is some definite cross genre pollination from the usual psych sound. Experimental and fascinating, Australia is keeping them coming. - SJ
