TMR first timers Evil Needle and Naji come together in turnt harmony on aptly named new drop ‘Loud’, a serving suggestion as much as a title. The Soulection affiliated producer serves up a variety of crisp beats, crossing over the old school backing rhythms and scintillating synths. It’s a progressive backdrop for Naji’s swerving lines, from popping rap to dusky vocal highs, and a few bits of candid mimicry. The track swings on a soulful pendulum for around three minutes, until Evil Needle drops the percussion out and draws a line of howling electronics and Loud’s contemplative murmurs. That’s still not the end of the story for ‘Loud’, as the French producer sticks a slice high-tempo, moody bass on the end, which could perhaps be suggestive of what his Abyssal LP, has in store for eager listeners. - HT
