Sweden's Erik Hassle is responsible for some of our favourite angst-ridden anthems of the past few years - we're still absolutely obsessed with 'Talk About It' - and the despondent hits just keep on flowing. In fairness, 'Natural Born Lovers' is one of Hassle's more upbeat compositions, although he does manage to cram a whole lot of yearning lyricism into four minutes of pogoing '80s synth lines and confidently swaggering beats. While it may lack the heavyweight emotiveness that has permeated almost all of his material since returning from the cold in 2013, 'Natural Born Lovers' is the perfect balance of Hassle's cleanly-produced Scandipop heritage and that rawer, grittier edge so well executed by his peers today. - DC
