Sydney twosome Joel Spiteri and Mike Holm make sugared downtempo electronic music together under the East of Here alias. We first caught wind of these guys when they put out their delicately blooming single 'Heartbeat' at the start of the summer, but when things went a little quiet on their end, we dropped the ball. Two weeks ago, the boys returned - unbeknownst to us - with another hair-raising track 'Don't Need You'. We've caught up now, so here it is - a lovingly constructed paean in the Aquilo mould, with quavering vocals wrapped around twinkling guitar notes and thudding percussion. Don't be surprised when East of Here start making big waves on our shores soon. - DC
