DYLAN MOON DEATH WARMED

After studying sound design at music school and experimenting with beat making, prog and psych, Dylan Moon moved to L.A, where he ended up returning to traditional song writing methods. He uses drum machines, plays guitar and sings, assembling honest folk songs that are delicate as a butterfly’s wings. A small handful of singles have been released this year, the freshest named ‘Death Warmed’. There’s a tissue paper-like fragility in Dylan’s voice as he sings "sleep walking days have found me now", which is reminiscent of the vocal style in the music of Happyness or Elliot Smith. Scaled guitars strum, lead line strings bend, effected to a subtly psychedelic degree. Piano chords plonk dissonantly with a tame level of insanity, whilst the drum machine is quiet and simple, in keeping with the understated mood of the song. -Ellie Rose Davies
