French electronic duo Duñe x Crayon have joined forces to drop their huge new single and video ‘Pointless (ft. Ichon)’. It comes from their debut album Hundred Fifty Roses, due for release in April 2020. Musically, the track is smooth and atmospheric, using an incredibly slow tempo to give the luscious piano room to breathe amongst heavy, yet subtle percussion. Through Ichon, we’re treated to some high-quality French rap. In terms of the video, Alice Kong has excelled herself, creating a captivating visual full of colourful settings and surrealist imagery. Explaining the outline of the video, she says “‘Pointless’ tells the story of a young man, depicted by Ichon, who’s living in social isolation – lonely, and out of step with an over-connected society”. Considering this is only their second release since their recent return to form after three years of silence, it’s an impressive track. - Dan Peeke
