DRAHLA PYRAMID ESTATE

Following the announcement of their debut album Useless Coordinates last month, experimental art-punks Drahla have shared the concise follow up to ‘Stimulus For Living’.  At a swift 1 minute 53 seconds, ‘Pyramid Estate’ nods to the wiry, discordant guitar work of fellow Leeds post-punk pioneers Delta 5, set against a barbed bass line and frantic drumming that feels almost trip-hoppy at points. Unhinged sax solos join the controlled chaos adding to the track’s distinct sense of disorientation, as singer/guitarist Luciel Brown’s laissez-faire vocals lead the way. Useless Coordinates will arrive on the 3rd of May via American tastemakers Captured Tracks. -Holly Mullineaux
