We’ve been waiting for a follow up to Douglas Dare's critically acclaimed album Whelm, which had us spellbound in 2014, and our patience has finally paid off as we learn second album Aforger is due for an October release. Ahead of it landing via Erased Tapes Records, Dare has shared lead single ‘Doublethink’ and it’s exactly what we wanted with its instrumental depths and artistic treatment. A soundscape of tightly woven strings, percussion and experimental sounds backdrop Dare’s truly exquisite vocal work. We’re reminded of Portico and Adult Jazz but at the same time Dare has his own unique sound, which puts him firmly in his own class. We could not be more excited to get lost in all his musical thoughts once again. - SJ
