It's been two years since Toronto alt-rockers Dilly Dally released their well-received debut album Sore, and whilst that seems like a perfectly acceptable break between albums for most, the morbid video for come-back single 'I Feel Free' sees lead singer/guitarist Katie Monks digging up her deceased band mates and presumably attempting to bring them back to life. Despite its unusual video, 'I Feel Free' is a scorching return, which captures the two extremes of Dilly Dally's sound. Sugary-sweet vocals open the track on top of reverb-heavy, ambient guitars and moody bass before exploding into 'I Feel Free's dramatic chorus, as Monks' familiar snarl takes centre stage once more. Monk explains, “this song is me asking my bandmates to let go of what’s been weighing us down. We’re not going to let the past hold us back from our dreams. Let’s do this thing.” Heaven will arrive on the 14th of September via Partisan Records. -Holly Mullineaux
